Subject: Inturn
and outturn, what to do
Question:
Here is my question.
I am just learning to curl. I am left handed. When
making an In Turn or an Out Turn, do I do the complete opposite
of what a right handed person would do?
For example, if a right handed person was making
an Out Turn, they would have the handle of the rock approx. 45 degrees
to the right. Would a left handed thrower have the handle of the
rock at approx 45 degrees to the left?
Thank you for your help.
F. L.
Answer:
The simple answer would be
yes.
In-turn Slight rotation applied to a stone where
the playing hand turns in towards the player (clockwise for right-handed
players and vice versa for left-handed)
Out-turn Slight rotation applied to a stone where
the playing hand turns out from the player (anti-clockwise for right-handed
players and vice versa for left-handed)
