FAQ Frequently Asked Questions - Internet Curling Club

Subject: Pay the Pig - Money for hog rocks

Question:
Pay the Pig Insert a quarter into the piggy bank on the ice or in the warm room for each hogged stone. First year curlers are exempt. Is this a common practice for curlers in canada, or is this just an anomoly found only at the Rochester Rink.

Answer:
Thank you!

Your question is greatly appreciated and always welcomed.

This is the first time I have heard of it. One of our other ASK A PRO people said they do this at his rink in BC. He said that they put the names in with the quarters and the person is drawn at the end of the season and wins the money. They use a box at the bar. But we really like the pig idea.

What does your rink do with the money
